Previous Episode
Since nobody knows what happened to Rena after disappearing, Shugo searches frantically for Rena inside the mansion. However,
there is no trace of Rena's ghost anywhere. Mireille then shows up, convinced that since Shugo and Rena are limited edition
characters, this must be a special event and the first person to find her will receive a rare item. She tells everyone to
search the town asking if anyone has seen Rena while she checks the information booths to see if there is any new information
on special events. No one seems to know anything about Rena, although one person said that they might have seen her in the
park. When they head over to the park, they find it crowded with people.
Since Hotaru's Grunty has been getting bigger and stronger (according to her) she has it search for Rena's scent. It
seemed like they were on the right trail, but it quickly becomes tired and it falls asleep on a bench. That is when Shugo
has the idea that man's best friend should be able to catch Rena's scent. Ouka then reminds Shugo that she is a werewolf
and not a dog.
While the groups is searching for Rena, Sanjuro meets with Balmung and informs him of Rena's disappearance. He tells
Balmung that when she was defeated by the Grim Reaper, she disappeared instead of turning into a ghost.
Shugo then remembers that Rena used to get lost in the real world and that he have to look for her. He decides that they
must look everywhere to find her.
The four hackers realize that their plan failed in their attempt to capture Kite, but it may still be a success seeing
as how they captured Blackrose. Since Kite lost Blackrose, this should have made him weaker and now the four hackers have
a better chance of winning.
After searching nonstop, Shugo receives an anonymous email stating only a field name. Mireille is now convinced that
this is a limited edition event and that is the name of the game area. They teleport in to the field only to find it covered
in ice and snow. Desperately looking for a place to warm up, they accidentally come across a hot spring. Shugo is reluctant
to enjoy the hot spring insisting that they must find Rena. However Ouka, Hotaru, and Mireille insist that they take a few
moments to rest and enjoy the spring. Eventually Shugo reluctantly agrees to enjoy the hot spring. As everybody is enjoying
the hot spring, Shugo, the only boy, faces the opposite direction, embarrassed. Realizing that he is having a horrible time,
the girls try to entice him to come over and join them. Just when Shugo is about to agree, Rena steps out of the mist and
hugs him. She mentions that she was waiting for him to come and that she never game up hope that she would find him. It
was at that moment that Shugo realizes that the person who is hugging him is not Rena. Rena would never sit around and wait
to be saved. Suddenly, Rena disappears and an old man takes her place. The hot springs disappear and a fight ensues. Shugo
is able to Data Drain the monster and soon it disappears.
Balmung then shows up and explains to Shugo that the limited edition character contest that he and Rena won was not through
the CC Corporation. Someone outside the company set it up. So all of the events that have been taking place are not part
of some special event in The World, but they are really happening. At home, Shugo gets a call from his mother telling him
that Rena has just been hospitalized and she is in a coma.
