The second OAV takes place in Nogezaka, Yokohama, where Yuki (Tomanari's friend) is in a flower shop leaving. She is tired
of being around her pregnant sister-in-law, Miho and her brother. Yuki tells her brother to give "her" a message,
that she won't be home for dinner. She then proceeds to call her brother a loser.
Junichiro telephones Yuki to inform her that he is stuck in traffic in Tokyo and that he will be late for their meeting.
Once the conversation ends, Yuki notices a big Ferris wheel and department stores and since she has a few hours to waste before
Junichiro arrives, she decides to go see a movie.
In the cinema, Yuki watches a movie. In Tokyo, Mai has been dropped off at a library and is doing some research on a
computer where she is looking up information regarding CyberConnect Corp on her screen. Back in the movie, we are shown that
Yuki is watching a movie where a clown is threatening a small girl. In the library, Mai hears the A in C major scale tone
(which she first heard moments before Tomanari and her went into a coma during the first OAV). In the movie, the girl approaches
the clown, but the film is interrupted by snow and the words "The World" quickly flash across the screen. The movie
then dies and the mall's alarms start to go off.
Mai telephones Junichiro to tell him what just happened. Junichiro thinks that whatever is causing this was originally
in Fragment and that CC Corp never knew about this danger when they marketed it to the public. He tells Mai to investigate
the Fragment developer. Suddenly, there is an explosion, all traffic is halted and all cell phones are out.
Back in the theater everyone is told to leave the building. Back inside the movie theater, the crowds are directed to
leave the building. When directed by the store employees to not take the escalators, the customers don't listen and soon
metal doors close down on them and they are trapped. Junichiro pulls off to the side of the bridge and he gets out of his
car. Looking further down the road, he notices that the traffic is at a total stand still and cell phone service is still
dead. He tries to contact Yuki, but he gets a "no service" message. Realizing that something might be wrong, he
leaves his car and starts running.
Back in the mall, the shutters start to come down at the other exits, and people are now being directed to the stairs.
Yuki sees a middle aged person who starts to go the wrong way, but Yuki doesn't really care and all she wants to do is get
to the stairs so she could leave. The woman stops and warns Yuki not to go that way, because there are too many people there.
She then tells Yuki she won't reach the exit going in that direction. Moments later, the shutters come down trap everyone
that was going in that direction. Yuki asks who the woman is and how she knows so much about the building and the woman replies
that she works there. Although Yuki doesn't want to, she follows the woman because all of the other exits are now closed.
When Yuki and the woman get to the emergency doors, they find out that they are locked and the reinforced glass won't
break. The woman tells Yuki that if they get to a higher level, the windows will be easier to break through and then they
can escape. The woman shatters the glass covering the emergency door with her shoe, and presses the button, however the doors
don't open.
The woman is looking around for another possible route for escape but Yuki wants to stay and wait where they are. When
the woman reminds Yuki of here cell phone, Yuki discovers that there is no service and she is told that the problem is not
just in the building itself but everywhere. So they cannot expect any help from the outside anytime soon. Realizing that
there is an air duct at the end of the hallway, the woman asks Yuki to move the bench they are sitting on to the end of the
hallway so they can maneuver through the duct.
While Yuki and the woman are crawling through the air duct, Yuki tells her about seeing "The World" flash upon
the screen during the movie. The woman replies that streaming cinema is common but Yuki isn't so sure and she proceeds to
tell her that a friend of hers fell into a coma while playing the game. The stranger stops Yuki and asks if she smells something
burning. They come out of the air duct and find themselves in the kitchen where the gas stove was left on. The woman says
that they had better hurry because the food court is on the first floor, and if other people left the ovens on, a fire could
break out. The woman then picks up a frying pan, while the sound of an elevator catches Yuki's attention.
Back in the library, Mai is going through newspapers when she found a story on Harold, and the Epitaph. She then gets
a call from Kyo.
The woman proceeds to use the frying pan handle as a lever in order to open the elevator doors. Yuki and the woman then
pull the elevator doors completely open only to find that the elevator can't be seen. The woman then drops the pan into the
shaft after a few seconds, the pan hits the car below...signaling it is going to be a long way down.
When Kyo calls Mai, she sounds happy to finally meet her. Kyo mentions to Mai that she cannot reach Yuki, and that TV
news reports say something bad is happening in Yokohama (where Yuki is). Kyo says that she will keep trying to reach Yuki,
while Mai is to keep dialing Junichiro.
Back in the mall, the woman rips off one of her sleeves and wraps her hands up with the cloth. She is determined to leave
the building even if she has to leave Yuki behind. The woman mentions that if a fire did break out, the extinguisher system
will dump CO2 into the halls and everyone would suffocate. Yuki wants to go back and tell others about their escape route,
but the woman tells her that the acrylic surrounding the escalators will not crack so they are stuck. The woman then tears
her other sleeve and proceeds to wrap up Yuki's hands. Then they both grab a hold of the elevator cables and proceed to slide
down.
Mai is talking to Kyo again. She still cannot reach Junichiro. Kyo is concerned, but does not want Mai to go to Yokohama
for fear of losing contact with her too. Mai hopes that Junichiro and Yuki will both be okay.
Yuki and the woman have made there down the elevator cable and are on top of the elevator car, next to the frying pan.
The woman has sprained her ankle, and Yuki's glasses have been broken. When asked why she does not wear contacts, Yuki replies
by saying her eyes are too sensitive and they get red. She puts her glasses in her purse and helps the woman stand. Using
the frying pan handle, they open the elevator doors from the inside.
On the ground floor, a truck had smashed through a window, and Yuki and the woman walk out to the street. There they
find out the streets are deserted except for overturned and wrecked cars. Yuki comments about this is the end of the world.
The woman replies that it is the second coming of Pluto's Kiss "when computers abandon us, then all hell breaks loose".
Before the woman leaves, she tells Yuki that she lied about the acrylic doors and that they are plain glass. She then
tells Yuki that they have met before, at Miho's wedding. Yuki was not wearing her glasses then so she did not see the woman's
face clearly.
It is now dark Yuki is waiting for Junichiro to appear on a bridge. When he finally meets her, she yells at him for being
6 hours late.
Junichiro apologizes and tells her that he has been through a lot today. Yuki replies by telling him that she has been
through a lot, too, pointing at the fires that are still burning in the city. She asks if this has anything to do with The
World.
Power then returns to the city and both Yuki's and Junichiro's phones ring. Kyo is calling Yuki and Mai calls Junichiro.
Junichiro asks Mai how the search went and she tells him about the "Epitaph of Twilight". Junichiro says he has
not heard of it, but Yuki says her friend Kyo is an expert on it. Kyo overheard Yuki talking to Junichiro and she tells Yuki
that she needs to talk to Mr. Tokuoka right away.
