Previous Episode
The battle is still gong on as the party continuely uses spells against Morit's monster. However, they still seem to be doing
no damage and the virus is still infecting Rena. In an alley, Shugo sees a confused and unharmed Komiyama in the distance
and Shugo wonders why he is not affected by the virus even though Komiyama sends her daily emails about his journeys.
SInce none of the spells are having any affect against the monster, Mireille wants to give up. Knowing that Rena's life
may be at stake, Shugo says they can't give up and he has a plan. Shugo shows the group Komiyama and explains that he is
immune to the virus and the reason may have something to do with him being Data Drained. Sanjuro says that he can't data
draining everyone, and Mireille agrees saying that it would be too dangerous. Shugo says that he isn't planning on Data Draining
everyone, just himself.
As Rena is calling out to Shugo the virus is now covering the majority of her. When Shugo hears Rena, he remembers all
of the sad times with her and says taht he doesn't wan't to experience those memories again and that he would rather die than
to let that happen. Seeing how determined Shugo is, the group decides that the Data Drain should involve everyone because
there would be a higher success rate. While Shugo gets into position to reflect the Data Drain off a mirror, Kamui distracts
the monster and the Data Drain hits the party.
The Data Drain worked and Mireille now has her staff back, Hotaru's Grunty is bigger and has grown wings. However Ouka
gets Data Drained into a small puppy, Sanjuro turns into an old man, and Balmung has fallen to the ground. Shugo and Mireille
decide to fight the monster while Hotaru acts as a healer. During the fight, Mireille and Shugo attacks are not having any
effect on the monster and Aura tells Shugo that Data Drain might be the only way to defeat the monster.
As Shugo is getting ready to attempt the Data Drain, Aura tells him that if he Data Drains the monster as soon as the
virus completely takes over Rena, he can drain just the virus. However he has only 1/1000th of a second. When the virus fully
infects Rena, Shugo jumps and says he will get her back and he successfully uses the Data Drain. The monster is defeated and
Rena falls into Shugo's arms and she opens her eyes.
Shugo tells Rena, to get away and he proceeds to attack Morti. However during his leap, the girl hacker steps in and
attempts to save her. Morti quickly grabs the girl and shields her thus Shugo strikes her instead of the girl hacker. After
Morti's death, the area is breaking apart and chaos gates start to appear and open all over the field. The girl says the final
trap is running now and that all chaos gates will turn red and begin to decompile and eliminate all evidence of the world.
As such, logging out is impossible. In the CC Corp offices, Reiki estimates that they only have about 5 minutes until the
system shuts down.
Komiyama says that all of this is their fault, he tries to get out of there by running into the red chaos gates, but he
crashes into them instead of returning to the field. Kamui says that the girl was the 4th hacker that caused all of the problems
in the world. The girl responds by saying she made friends with Morti and says both of them were interested in death. The
girl says she searched the real world, but she could not find her answer, so she went to a place where death was common.
Since people die all the time in "The World", she decided it was the perfect place to expirement. The conclusion
she reached was that death was like being deleted here. Rena says they make an afterlife in the World and where all of us
can go when we die. Rena and Shugo say they know what she is feeling, they both want someplace to go where you can meet each
other after death. And although death and separation are similar, even if you are separated, you can still meet each other
anytime in The World. The hacker girl wants to believe that… she wants to understand why Morti sacrificed herself
to save her… but she says that soon "The World" will collapse and perhaps they will really die, or just
sleep forever. Maybe death is like sleeping forever.
Balmung says that it is too soon to give up hope yet. He asks why did Aura bring back Kite/Shugo and Blackrose/Rena?
There must be some power that they can unleash when they are together. The girl adds that the bracelet's power was teh one
thing that Morti feared. Rena takes Shugo's hand and suddenly the bracelet begins to glow. Shugo and Rena then go flying
into the chaos gate while everyone watches. Before they leave they say that they will protect "The World" because
it is their world.
After credits:
Mireille runs happily towards Hotaru showing her the 3 new sets of rare items she just received. Soon all of the party
members one by one waiting for the guests of honor to arrive. Soon Shugo and Rena log in and the party is reunited. While
this is going on, the hacker girl looks on, and is reminded of the fact that friends can meet in "The World" regardless
of distance.
